The Indianapolis City Ballet will be presenting “An Evening with the Stars 2010″ in Indianapolis, IN at the Murat Theatre on Saturday, September 11th. The first event was held last year in 2009 and proved to be a thrilling experience for on-lookers who enjoyed the first class, national and international dancers. While many audience members were moved to standing ovations, others simply let their jaws-drop in aw-stricken wonder. Wicked is live in Indianapolis, IN at Murat Theatre at Old National Centre with shows running from from Wednesday, December 15, 2010 until Saturday, January 1, 2011. Wicked is a Broadway musical based on the novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire. The roles include many of the same characters from the classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, but the show itself is not based on Dorothy and her troubles, but on Elphaba, “The Wicked Witch of the West” (as named in the movie) and Glinda “The Good Witch” and their lives as children to adults, school, love, and how they became who they are when Dorothy arrives in The Emerald City.
This may be one of the most loved Broadway musicals since Phantom of the Opera, Grease, or even Les Miserables (maybe not completely comparable, but you get the idea).
